# Data Center API

The Butlr Data Center API gives an application read-only access to the halls, sensors, raw thermal frames, statistics, events, and alerts owned by one Data Center organization.

* [Authentication](/data-center/authentication.md) — Create and protect an expiring organization token.
* [Read raw thermal frames](/data-center/read-raw-frames.md) — Discover sensors and retrieve thermal matrices.
* [Call the API](/data-center/call-the-api.md) — Copy a complete Shell, Python, or JavaScript integration.

## Production endpoint

```
https://api.datacenter.butlr.io
```

All requests require a bearer token whose prefix is `dc_live_`. The server binds the token to its organization; a client cannot choose or override that organization in a header, query parameter, GraphQL argument, or resource ID.

{% hint style="success" %}
Organization API Tokens are read-only. GraphQL mutations, token-management routes, uploads, camera/media operations, and all unlisted routes are denied.
{% endhint %}

## Current API scope

* Discover the token's organization, halls, and registered sensors with GraphQL.
* Read archived raw thermal frames for a sensor.
* Read thermal statistics and derived events for a sensor, hall, pod, rack, or rack face.
* List organization alerts, retrieve one alert, and inspect its thermal context.

The current raw-frame endpoint reads the archive tier. It is suitable for synchronized polling and historical windows, but it is not a WebSocket stream.

{% hint style="info" %}
The older `/v1/customer/thermal/*` routes and customer WebSocket are temporary evaluation interfaces. New integrations should use the organization-scoped API described here.
{% endhint %}
